Maybe I am in this negative place because we ditched the TV a few years ago. I wouldn't have read so many books about the environment in my spare time (Just finished Collapse)No, I would still be watching David Letterman, gossip shows, and Cake Boss. When one of my daughters tells me she thinks she doesn't want to have kids I secretly think this is good because the thought of bringing up children in this world is too depressing. In fact, if I was a young woman I wouldn't even have children knowing what they are going to deal with in their own lives (water, fuel shortage, unpredictable weather, blah blah blah...). Being only halfway though my life (hopefully), I don't want to spend the rest of it in this place of negativity. It sucks! Thats where Chris Turner comes in. I just read a review about his new book and promptly put my name on the waiting list at the library. This dude better deliver the dose of optimism I am looking for. I am ready to be convinced and can't wait to dig into his book.
PS: The B man broke down and ordered cable. He blames it on the return of the Jets (Go Jets!!). Its basically ok except that Daughter Younger is now addicted to the Kardashians.
Love catching up on your posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tracey. I felt is was a whiny post but felt I had to get it off my chest.
