First Planting of the Season

It is impossible to hold back with the weather being so nice. Radishes are safe to plant this time of year, right? Last year's radish pods are hanging from the basement rafters waiting to be smacked open. I am an impulsive girl and bought a package of German Giant instead. Who could resist eating a radish the size of a baseball?

Last year's radishes did pretty well in these pallet garden containers so back they go for another round.


This little trick worked well last year in keeping the squirrels out. They really seem to like planters but have not been able to break through this cloth barrier.

Now all that is left to do is wait, water and weed.
