Little did I know there has been a spud dispute brewing in this province which explains why I found it difficult, if not impossible to find organic locally grown potatoes this winter, even though I shop at a store with a focus on selling organic/local food.
Two days ago new legislation took effect in Manitoba whereby every potato farmer in Manitoba has to register through Peak of the Market. While researching what this means for the average consumer I came across a blog that explains it very well. Check it out to see how this ruling affects you.
